The Hickory Public Schools requested a Letter of Intent from the County supporting funding a portion of cost to replace grass on Hickory High football field with artificial turf. It was proposed that the Board of Commissioners appropriate up to half the projected cost of the field at $387,500. In addition, the board proposed that staff develop a standardized Memorandum of Understanding to help set a framework for similar requests from other schools. The board approved the request.
