O-Zone: Dipsy-doo

Sam from Winter Park, FL The Josh Oliver trade just looks weird now considering we are kicking the tires on a 33-year-old ex-quarterback. I understand there currently is a Tim Tebow obsession among many Jaguars fans and observers. Again. I don t share it, because I just don t see the idea that the Jaguars could potentially sign him as a tight end as a flashpoint moment for the organization. If the Jaguars sign him and he makes the team, it s wonderful. If they sign him and he doesn t make the team, there s no harm. I don t expect that anyone in the organization realistically believes he s going to the Pro Bowl. I don t know that anyone in the organization realistically believes he will make a dramatic difference to the tight-end position. If he s signed, it s to see if it might help in some way. The sharp drop-off in recruiting toward the end of the 2010s has been noticeable on the field the last two seasons and became even more visible during recent drafts. Cornerback Shakur Brown appeared to have the best chance to hear his name called, while defensive tackle Naquan Jones and linebacker Antjuan Simmons were seen as long shots. Brown quickly signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers following the draft, while Jones landed with the Tennessee Titans. Simmons is still awaiting his NFL fate as of press time, but all three look to prove themselves in 2021 after going undrafted.

NFL Draft: One Thing To Know About Each of the Jacksonville Jaguars Undrafted Free Agents - Sports Illustrated Jacksonville Jaguars News, Analysis and More

May 5, 2021 If the NFL Draft is truly the lifeblood of professional football that many proclaim it is, then undrafted free agency is far more important than some may realize. Every year we see immensely talented players go undrafted, somehow falling through the cracks; James Robinson was the best example last season, but it happens every year to some extent.  The Jacksonville Jaguars reaped the benefits of finding a diamond in the rough in Robinson in 2020, just as they used the draft s eighth round to find gems throughout the years in Jarrod Wilson, Tre Herndon, Allen Hurns, Doug Costin, and Corey Grant.
