Like so many other events since last March the Brigid of Faughart Festival is taking their celebration of Brigid, Goddess and Saint on-line this year as they celebrate the feast day of St Brigid and the celtic Godness of Imbolc.
Although there have been many cancelled events in recent times the organisers of the Brigid of Faughart Festival which takes place next Monday, February 1 were determined that it wouldn t be one of them.
Now, in association with An Tain Arts Centre they are hosting Cruinniú Lá Fhéile Bhríde - Gathering Under Brigid s Mantle , on Monday at 8pm, marking the 14th year of the festival and perhaps one of the most important to date.

They is an exploration of identity, modern society and race. It s a safe space for the words of poet Felispeaks and rapper Jafaris to voice a year of when being black became personal, amid the global Black Lives Matter movement.
