Firefighters from Invergordon, Tain, Dingwall, Dornoch, Fortrose and Inverness were all scrambled to the scene shortly after the alarm was raised at 7.03am. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that a building measuring 50 metres by 20 metres was well alight, with flames through the roof . Gallery1 It is the second devastating fire to hit the school site in a year, and comes almost exactly a year ago to the day after the first, which tore through the school site on February 24 last year.

Ullapool, which will be operating a small scale test site, and Lochcarron (which is a pick-up only test site) are among 21 such fire station sites across NHS Highland which are acting as test locations.
