A WEATHER warning for snow and ice has been issued for Dorset as temperatures are set to drop overnight. The Met Office has imposed a yellow weather warning from midnight tonight, as icy patches and wintry showers may cause travel disruption. The warning covers Bridport, Lyme Regis and the majority of West Dorset. It is in currently in place until 11am tomorrow morning. Some roads and railways are likely to be affected, forecasters say, with longer journey times by road, bus and train services. Icy patches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths could also pose a hazard to cyclists and pedestrians.

A weather warning for snow, issued by the Met Office, remains in force for parts of Dorset until 11.59pm on Wednesday, February 10. The weather alert states: “Frequent snow showers may lead to travel disruption in places. Some places are likely to miss the showers altogether.” Weather forecasts and predictions made by weather enthusiast Dorset Snow have come true as some areas of Dorset saw some snowfall overnight.
AREAS just east of Dorset could be hit with snow this weekend, prompting the Met Office to issue a yellow weather warning. The Met Office said snow showers in the far north-east of the UK will spread southwards, creating a “chance of heavier snow for a time in the south”. A further snow signal into Monday/Monday evening too, as low pressure is never too far away from our shores.
