CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â The Texas State Aquarium has reached a big milestone.
On Tuesday, the aquarium welcomed its 15 millionth guest.
Since opening its doors back in 1990, the Aquarium has welcomed millions of guests who ve explored the amazing animals and habitats of the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean.
Each visit to the Aquarium helps support wildlife rescue and conservation efforts in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, and beyond.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â A Corpus Christi couple that was visiting the Texas State Aquarium was thrilled to find out that, as of Friday, one of the city s biggest attractions no longer requires people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to wear masks. Here, they said itâs up to you, Victoria Rivera said. So you know what, Iâm like, Iâm safe. I feel safe. My daughterâs safe. My husbandâs safe. So Iâm safe, so I donât have to wear it.â
âI havenât had (the novel coronavirus) yet, her husband Jake Olmeda said. So I donât think (wearing masks is) necessary anymore.â

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â The Texas State Aquarium and the U.S.S. Lexington Museum both are no longer requiring fully vaccinated COVID-19 patrons to wear masks inside their facilities.
Effective immediately and based upon CDC guidance, the U.S.S. Lexington Museum will no longer require facial coverings for our guests, volunteers, and crew.
Facility officials say they remain committed to a healthy recovery from this global pandemic and respectfully recommend that visitors who have not yet been vaccinated continue to wear a mask.
