Clinic takes holistic approach to healing

Newgen, a physical therapy and wellness clinic started by Dr. Luan Nguyen, is expanding its services by recently relocated from Mangilao to a larger clinic space the Tamuning clinic formerly occupied by Dr. Tom Shieh.
The clinic’s name is a play on the pronunciation of Dr. Nguyen’s last name, and also means new generation, Nguyen said.
The clinic, which opened for business in 2016, originally operated at the American Medical Center building, in Mangilao, where Nguyen still works as a family physician.
“I started this (clinic), trying to solve problems. When I first moved to Guam, I noticed it’s taking a month just to send someone to physical therapy. I tried to solve that need,” Nguyen said, and AMC already had a space intended for physical therapy services. “I said let me try my hand at this entrepreneur thing and try to solve this issue.
