Jervois Quay: Today’s the day we, the council, and just about every road sign around the region, have been warning you about. Jervois Quay has closed to fix a broken stormwater pipe. The work began at 7pm last night, and the six-lane road will stay shut until 6am on Tuesday. Council is urging people to rethink their travel plans, especially for Friday’s commute. Suggestions include travelling during off-peak hours, or taking the train. Contractors will be working round the clock to complete the work, which would normally take around six weeks, in five days.
