Candidate election signs not to be within 100 metres of voting venues

According to the Local Government Act, section 154, “in relation to voting proceedings, a person must not do any of the following at or within 100 metres of a building, structure or other place where voting proceedings are being conducted at the time: (c) display or distribute a sign, a document or other material regarding a candidate or electoral organization , except as authorized by the chief election officer.” Election signage is not allowed on city property, in Centennial Park or “on Banner across a City street, avenue or roadway”. Advanced voting for the City’s by-election is now open. Voting takes place at the Pomeroy Sport Centre from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on May 5th.
