Your Philadelphia 76ers are 15-6. They are #1 in the Eastern Conference two and a half games ahead of the Brooklyn Nets. Part of the reason is the roster construction. Part of it is the improved and budding partnership/friendship of all-stars Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. Another part is the flaming hot start of Tobias Harris. Tom West wrote two pieces on the latter two points, and he joins host Adio Royster on the podcast to discuss that and more (including how things are going in England with regards to COVID-19 since it’s always nice to know that it isn’t just bad here in the United States).

NARRATOR: 1939: A chemist at a midwestern paint company makes a startling discovery, one that could improve the health of millions of people. The company wants him to stick to making paint, but this man has always gone his own way. He was the grandson of Alabama slaves, yet he went on to become one of America s great scientists.
HELEN PRINTY (Julian Laboratories Chemist) : He had to fight to overcome the odds of being a black man in America.
JOHN KENLY SMITH (Historian) : The chemical world was a club, and outsiders were not really all that welcome.
PETER WALTON (Julian Laboratories Employee) : We lived, for the most part, in a highly stressed, very competitive environment.
Joe Marler has ruled himself out of England’s entire Guinness Six Nations title defence in order to be with his family during the coronavirus pandemic.
Marler has withdrawn three days after being named in Eddie Jones’ 28-man squad, leaving Ellis Genge as the only capped loosehead prop for the opener against Scotland on February 6.
And, in another significant blow to England, in-form Wasps second row Joe Launchbury will miss the first three rounds because of a broken leg.
The gaps in the squad have been filled by Wasps prop Tom West and Bath lock Charlie Ewels.
“Always grateful for the opportunity so not an easy decision, but want to do right by my family in these crazy times and won’t be meeting up with the squad for this tournament. Look forward to watching the team rip in. Go well Rose x,” Marler said on Twitter.
