Admission: Dr Khan has admitted the two charges he faced following a road traffic accident which caused a man s death A NORTH Cumbrian doctor has admitted causing a man s death by careless driving. At Carlisle Crown Court today, Dr Samin Ahmed Khan, 75, of Scaleby Hill, entered a guilty plea to a charge that he caused the death of pedestrian Robert Wilson on April 27, 2019, by driving carelessly. At the time of the tragedy, the defendant was driving a Mercedes E220 on the A69 at Warwick Bridge. Prosecutor Paul Brookwell told the court that the defendant s plea was entered on a basis and that this was acceptable because it dealt with the central issue in the case - whether Khan should have seen Mr Wilson crossing the road earlier than he did.
