Dorchester boss Robbie Herrera Picture: PHIL STANDFIELD DORCHESTER Town boss Robbie Herrera has urged the Magpies to “put on a performance we can be proud of” against arch-rivals Weymouth tomorrow (3pm). Herrera’s men go into their final pre-season friendly of the summer with three wins and a loss. The one blemish was a 3-0 defeat to National League South side Hungerford Town on Tuesday. However, the Ridgeway derby represents Dorchester’s toughest examination of the summer, with the Terras playing two divisions above in the National League. Dorchester displayed arguably their best football of pre-season against Hungerford. Asked what he wanted to obtain from the contest, Herrera said: “Again, another 90 minutes for the lads who are looking to be in the starting XI come August 14th.
“We had one 16-year-old (Connor Callow) who played the last half hour at centre-half. “So in that respect, for their development and the pathway that the club’s trying to provide – fantastic. “On the other hand, it’s still not what I was looking for. Sloppy at times, especially first half with the passing. “Still work to be done and maybe a couple of bodies to bring in.” Herrera felt the heat might have taken its toll on his players, adding: “You’ve got to take the conditions into account. “It (was) a scorching day and it’s even hotter out there on the Astro turf, it makes it a degree or two higher.
