OAK LAWN, IL The Oak Lawn Village Board named 6th District Trustee Tom Phelan as the new village manager during a special board meeting Tuesday morning. Phelan replaces Randy Palmer, who officially retired from the post following the announcement.
Phelan s appointment comes after nearly two months of research, interviews and discussion. Phelan will earn an annual salary of $185,000, the same as the last two village managers, Mayor Terry Vorderer told Patch. Phelan will not be participating in the village s healthcare and benefits program.
New Oak Lawn Mayor Terry Vorderer said the continuing redevelopment of Oak Lawn's housing and business community will remain important under his leadership.

The Irish Farmers’ Association (IFA) has elected Stephen Arthur as the new IFA National Dairy Committee, the association has confirmed.
Taking to
Twitter to reveal the result, the organisation confirmed that Stephen Arthur has been appointed as successor to previous chairman Tom Phelan.
In the tweet, the IFA said: “Stephen Arthur has been elected chairman of the IFA Dairy Committee. He succeeds Tom Phelan and takes up the role immediately, having been acting chairman.
