Peoria s Warehouse District evolved with businesses, bars, residences

PEORIA Warehouses no longer account for a significant part of the Peoria Warehouse District. Residences, small businesses and restaurants and bars have begun to permeate the historic area located just southwest of Downtown Peoria. More developments are being planned. But Warehouse District revitalization hardly has been an overnight process. April represents the 14th anniversary of the city s recognition of the Warehouse District as a potential growth area. In 2007, a tax-increment-financing plan the city commissioned noted the area had more than 300 buildings that might lend themselves to commercial, residential or mixed-use development. More than 90% of those buildings were constructed before 1972. That was critical. To be designated as a conservation area, at least half its buildings must be at least 35 years old.

Pop-A-Shot partners with NBA for officially-licensed games

Peoria, IL, USA 1470 & 100.3 WMBD Jan 22, 2021 1:47 PM PEORIA, Ill. Pop-A-Shot announced Friday they have partnered with the National Basketball Association (NBA) to launch a line of officially-licensed games. Pop-A-Shot’s best-selling game, the Home Dual Shot, is now available with designs and colors to match all 30 NBA teams. “It’s a natural fit Pop-A-Shot and the NBA,” said Director of Marketing Ryan Jeffery. “This is the first time since Pop-A-Shot has moved to Peoria that we’ve had the opportunity to partner with the NBA. “It’s another chance for [NBA] fans to bring home a piece of their team.” In the past, Pop-A-Shot had worked with individual teams such as the Golden State Warriors, but this partnership provides an opportunity for fans to have the games in their home and represent their favorite team, according to Jeffery.
