What might have been a harmless high school prank turned into a message of hate and racism. The West Lincoln High School football team played Lincolnton High School on Saturday. The evening prior to, Mike Wirth, who lives across the street from the high school, witnessed approximately 10 young people painting the spirit rock at Lincolnton High School. He said he didnât think anything of it thinking it was just a high school caper.
There was something to it beyond high school shenanigans. In addition to âWLâ being painted over the Lincolnton High School name, swastika symbols were painted on the rock as well as the word ânigger.â
