Hemp farms in San Diego County boom, and neighbors say, so do the headaches
A hemp farm is leaving Encinitas after months of conflict with its neighbors, but the controversy surrounding it hasn’t gone away.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. For months, residents of a suburban Encinitas neighborhood have clashed with the hemp farm next door, blaming the farm for the nausea, dizziness and respiratory problems that they say have bothered them since October.
The new approval will add more weekday and weekend trips to the train schedule.
“Increasing Coaster service gives travelers along the I-5 corridor more transit options,” said
Tony Kranz, NCTD board chair and Encinitas deputy mayor. “More trips mean more opportunities to take Coaster to work or school, to access health care, to shop, to meet friends and family, to enjoy our beautiful beaches and so much more.”
