Browne selected ‘Senior of the Year’
COLUMBUS, Ind. As the longtime leader of The Lasting Impressions theater troupe, Donna Browne frequently has found herself squarely amid plenty of drama. But one segment of that caught her completely off guard recently.
And that unfolded when leaders at Mill Race Center told her she had been selected by staff as the 2020 Joan Pearcy Senior Citizen of the Year. The honor, named for the late, tireless, longtime Mill Race board member and volunteer, annually spotlights the above-and-beyond community involvement and volunteerism of a local senior age 65-plus.
“Oh my gosh,” Browne said. “Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think they would pick me for something like that.”
