Alabama Records Four Players With SEC Honors
The Alabama Crimson Tide finished 29-22 this season with a conference record of 12-17. The Crimson Tide s effort in conference was enough for the program to make the SEC Tournament for the first time since 2016. With the strong season against tough competition, Brad Bohannon s Crimson Tide had four players earn a combined six spots on the SEC s postseason award list.
For the first time since 2009, the Crimson Tide placed a player on the First Team All-SEC team with senior catcher Sam Praytor. Praytor led the Tide in homer runs this season with 13, good enough for eighth in the conference. he leads the Tide in RBIs this season with 44 and in slugging percentage with .550. The catcher saved some of his best efforts for conference play, he recorded 10 of his 13 multi-hit games against SEC competition. From behind the dish he anchored Alabama s defense by throwing out 11 baserunners, good enough for fifth in the conference.

A first inning sac fly in the first inning coupled with a Drew Bianco RBI double in the 8th was all LSU would need as the Tigers took game one over Alabama 2-1. The pitcher s duel looked as though it was going to go deep into the night with Landon Marceaux and Alabama s Tyler Ras both pitching into the 7th inning. Marceaux finished with 6 strikeouts and allowed no runs. The only runs from the Crimson Tide were surrendered by Devin Fontenot in the 8th inning.

Despite a solid start on the mound by Tyler Ras for Alabama baseball, the Crimson Tide bats were ineffective en route to a 2-1 loss at the hands of LSU on Friday night in Baton Rouge.
In six and two-thirds innings, Ras gave up just two runs off of four hits, walked three and struck out eight batters.
“Our kids really brought it tonight, really, really competed, Alabama coach Brad Bohannon said. We made a couple of very costly mistakes and LSU didn’t make any. Really, what the game came down to, is their pitchers beat us in RBI-situations. We had guys on base all night.

The good news: LSU got a much-needed series victory against Auburn over the weekend and nearly pulled off the sweep.
The bad news: LSU is still in CYA mode and not yet a lock for Hoover. At 9-15, they still need to at the very least post another series win this week and next week.
The good news: That is absolutely possible with Alabama and Texas A&M lined up.

Cancellation Seals A Tough Road Series For The Tide
After dropping the first two games of their weekend series in Nashville, Alabama Baseball s third and final game against the Commodores has been canceled according to Alabama Baseball via Twitter.
Friday s matchup was a solid showing for the Tide as they managed to hammer in six runs from six hits off of one of college baseball s biggest names RHP Kumar Rocker. But Rocker wouldn t disappoint and still managed to secure 13 strikeouts in just five innings of work. Bama junior RHP Tyler Ras notched only his second loss on the year, moving his record to 6-2 for 2021, after throwing only four frames and allowing eight runs off of eight hits.
