Alabama Drops Series Opener to Stetson
The Stetson Hatters, 11-4 on the season, defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide 12-2 (4-2) in the first of a three game series. Stetson s Nick Durgin put on a pitching clinic, holding the Tide without a hit until the bottom of the ninth and adding 9 strikeouts
Stetson jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the second inning following a moon shot home run from Jackson Olson that found its way right into the heart of the Alabama right field pavilion. From there, Alabama kept Stetson in check, allowing just two more runs, but could not wake the bats up until the end.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Crimson Tide pushed across three runs in the third and added five over the course of the sixth, seventh and eighth innings to account for the scoring on Friday night. Alabama starter Tyler Ras tossed six shutout innings to earn the win as Crimson Tide pitching held the Cougars to six hits on the night. Donald Hansis led the way for CofC with a 2-for-4 night.
Alabama Secures The Series Opener In Tuscaloosa
On Friday afternoon, the No. 22 Alabama Crimson Tide remained undefeated at home after their 8-4 series-opening win over the Wright State Raiders.
Following the win in game one of three, coach Brad Bohannon said, It was really exciting to see a lot of hard contact up and down the lineup, I thought we were really good offensively. Not as efficient as we need to be, but I was really glad to see a lot of production out of the bottom (of the lineup).
The winning pitcher of record for Alabama is junior LHP Tyler Ras after going 7.0 innings with five strikeouts, allowing only one hit and one run - both stemming from the single home run given up in the third inning.
