Workinitonbroadway Cops Top Trot | Standardbred Canada

Workinitonbroadway (Chris Page) won the $22,500 Open Trot on a special make-up Wednesday (Feb. 17) program at Miami Valley Raceway. The five-year-old son of Broadway Hall got the best of Weslynn Quest, Another Breath and seven other rivals in 1:54.4. The victory was the 17th for Workinitonbroadway, the Burke Racing-Weaver Bruscemi LLC-owned winner of just under $200,000. Also featured on the program were championship legs of the R. J. Brown Memorial trotting series for non-winners of two races or $20,000 lifetime as well as the $15,000 final of the popular Survivor Series for pacing mares. Howyadoinbub ran his win streak to three with an impressive 1:55.1 win from an outside post position. The four-year-old son of Dejarmbro has started 2021 with a bang after racing just once as a three-year-old. Trainer Bobbi Jo Brewer recently took over the training duties from co-owner Brian Georges, who became frustrated with the talented colt’s quirks and idiosyncrasies.

Secret Threat Reaches In Claim To Fame | Standardbred Canada

Secret Threat (Trace Tetrick) and Voracity (Dan Noble), currently the top two horses in North America in terms of seasonal earnings, finished first and second in the $37,500 championship leg of Miami Valley’s Claim To Fame Series for $30,000 claimers on Sunday (Jan. 24). Secret Threat was on top of the field at the first quarter beam in :27.1, but was shuffled back to fourth before Voracity reached the halfway point in :55.2. Voracity held the lead through three-quarters in 1:22.2 and kept the field at bay until Secret Threat reached to prevail in the final steps. The 1:51.1 clocking was the quickest of Secret Threat’s three wins this year to go with one second-place finish. Trainer Tyler George owns the nine-year-old son of Palone Ranger with longtime friend Justin Lloyd. The Tetrick-George driver-trainer combination has been a dominant force in the first month of the Miami Valley meet, with Tetrick well ahead in the dash derby and George sporting a Universal Training average
