Those lucky enough to have a stream on their property know it can become a mixed blessing. Over time, changing stream conditions may bring erosion and related problems. Fortunately, there are methods to reverse a streamâs demise and bring it back to being a natural asset once more.
Two Penn State Extension specialists â Tyler Groh, an assistant research professor and watershed management specialist, and Danielle Rhea, a water resources educator in Jefferson County â conducted a webinar about stream issues during the virtual 2021 Pennsylvania Farm Show last week.
They reviewed how a healthy stream can develop eroded banks, with soil from the property turning into sediment swept away downstream. More importantly, they described ways to avoid or correct these concerns.
East Lyme police have arrested a man who had multiple warrants following a brief police pursuit on Sunday. Officials said they pulled over a vehicle on West.

EAST LYME, Conn. East Lyme Police have arrested an Old Lyme man wanted on multiple arrest warrants.
Police say that they had received information about an ongoing investigation into the location of Tyler Groh, who was wanted on multiple arrest warrants, several of which were for failing to appear in court on violent crimes including Robbery, Assault, and Burglary.
On Friday, January 8th at approximately 10 p.m., East Lyme officers initiated a motor vehicle stop on West Main Street. As officers approach to the vehicle, they say Groh was was a passenger in the car, and he immediately fled from on foot onto the property of the nearby KOA campground. Police say officers engaged in a foot pursuit and were able to take Groh into custody after a short distance.
