Over 400 COVID vaccinations given in Darien

The Town of Darien has vaccinated over 400 with first doses of the Moderna vaccine. Vaccine is limited to those over 75 years old and is given by appointment only, which can be arranged/scheduled through the Darien Human Services Department at 203-656-7328 or through www.Darienct.gov which leads to the state department’s VAMS site.Town of Darien /
DARIEN The town has administered 430 first doses of Moderna’s coronavirus vaccine so far, according to a Code Red message from First Selectman Jayme Stevenson Thursday night. Currently, only those over 75, as part of the first tier of Phase 1b or those eligible under Phase 1a are able to make appointments.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt our daily lives, stress, worry and fear can seriously impact our mental health. The “new normal” of unemployment or working from home, virtual learning, isolation from family and friends, and other uncertainties make prioritizing mental health even more challenging. The added financial and emotional stress of the holiday season can also exacerbate an already difficult time for many, especially those living with depression or anxiety.
The Town of Darien Department of Human Services, in partnership with The Community Fund of Darien, is confronting these issues by providing resources and information for residents who are experiencing a mental health challenge or know someone who is.
