Reference librarian Karina Douglas-Takayesu said they are hoping to provide participants all the information about the memorial cemetery, originally known Catholic Cemetery, which was moved in 1917 from the churchyard on Fifth Avenue to the current location on Pine Street South, under the direction of Father Charles-Eugène Thériault.
“We will be focusing on some of the older part of the cemetery and looking at the graves of some famous people such as Bill Barilko, the hockey player and also a mass grave for some of the miners that were killed in the Hollinger mine fire in 1928.”
