The Special, directed by B. Harrison Smith from a screenplay penned by James Newman and Mark Steensland. If you missed it, give the trailer and synopsis a spin below.
Synopsis:
Suspecting his wife of infidelity, Jerry’s best friend offers him a supernatural encounter in the back room of a brothel. But everything has a price, and Jerry’s night of pleasure sets off a dark chain of events as he spirals into obsession.
BRIDGWATER residents have begun to benefit from new factory-built homes being erected on the town’s former cattle market. Sedgemoor District Council entered into a partnership with Keepmoat Homes to deliver a total of 159 homes off the A38 Bristol Road, with planning permission being granted in February 2018. Construction on the £25m project began in May 2018, with 41 of the 159 home being modular – meaning they were constructed in pieces in a factory off-site, transported to Bridgwater and then assembled. These new homes (on what has been dubbed The Parade) are now being snapped up by local residents, who are taking advantage of their eco-friendly nature and relatively low running costs.
Synopsis: In an effort to get out of her performance contract at The Rhinestone, Jake Farris (Dolly Parton) makes a bet with her manager that she can turn any man he picks into a country star. When her manager picks New York cabbie Nick Martinelli (Sylvester Stallone), it s clear she ll have her hands full if she wants to win the bet.
Janet Maslin of The New York Times felt Parton s acting was superb, yet wrote that the film as a whole was far from outstanding. As Mr. Stallone wends his way through barnyards and country cabins, the material retains some comic potential. But as the inevitable romance springs up between the two stars, their lack of rapport becomes all too noticeable, she wrote.

I’m grateful for how the pandemic afforded me more time with my family, particularly my children. This helped give me a revitalised perspective on how important investing in the next generation is for the future of our society and economy. Not only do I want to continue investing in my family, but also the young architects who are the future of our profession. We need to ‘mind the gap’ in terms of the lack of hands-on workplace opportunities that many have not benefitted from due to the pandemic and find a way to make this available no matter the cost.
