But with vaccines widely available across the state and as Republicans pursue policies to force schools to commit to in-person learning, some legislators are still pushing bills to allow county and city commissioners to continue to quite literally phone it in even after the pandemic. While some bills pertaining to the issue have failed, two continue to move forward in the General Assembly, including one that would allow local elected officials two passes each year moving forward to participate in a meeting virtually.
