Rob Yong Reveals When Dusk Till Dawn Will Reopen

It is almost 14 years since Nottingham Magistrates Court granted Dusk Till Dawn a casino licence, and paved the way for the launch of what is now the home of British poker. The club has gone from strength-to-strength since it first opened its doors, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced the clubs closure last year. The number 14 comes up against when talking about Dusk Till Dawn because it is 14 months since Rob Yong and his management team made the decision to close the iconic venue to the poker-loving public. Yong bolted the doors shut even before the British government forced non-essential businesses to close as the country prepared for a lockdown.

The indie band played the Union Street venue in May 2004 to 1,500 cheering, dancing and singing fans who loved every minute of the gig as Tim Burgess put on a “masterclass of rock”, according to the Evening Express reviewer. The “joyously-raucous” crowd bounced to favourites like How High and North Country Boy and left on a high. Tim Burgess belting out a song in the Music Hall in May 2004 – unaware a bug was raging through the room.
