View Comments The president of Champlain College announced his resignation from his position less than a year into his tenure. As of May 31, Dr. Benjamin Ola Akande will step down from his position at the Burlington institution. Akande assumed his role as president on July 1, 2020. Prior to his position at Champlain College, Akande held an administrative role at Washington University in St. Louis. Akande will return to St. Louis assuming a leadership role at one of the nation s largest investment banking and financial services firms,  according to a news release from Champlain College. “This past year has been unprecedented for all of us as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and I take great pride in our collective accomplishments during a year of unimaginable adversity,” Akande said in the news release.
