A huge fleet of cranes will arrive on the Mersey today as part of a massive £400 million project.
The Liverpool2 project will see a number of cantilever rail-mounted gantry (CRMG) cranes arriving at 2pm on Thursday, March 4.
The cranes will be visible from Crosby beach at around 12pm.
Produced by Chinese manufacturer Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co (ZPMC), the cranes are the first of two deliveries set for 2021 which will complete the fleet already being used in the £400 million Liverpool2 project.

Arriving from China is a heavy-lift vessel at the Port of Liverpool from where Peel Ports welcomed last week additional port crane infrastructure as part of the next phase of growth at Liverpool2, the port’s deep-water container terminal.

Across the Irish Sea at the Port of Liverpool, the owners Peel Ports Group have welcomed an additional five cantilever rail-mounted gantry (CRMG) container shipping cranes that arrived at the UK port from China.
The delivery which was completed last week forms part of the next phase of growth at Liverpool2, the Merseyside port’s deep-water container terminal (which last month Afloat adds broke its own volume handling record twice).
