Neal Land & Neighborhoods, a Manatee- and Sarasota-based master-planned community developer, wrapped up 2020 on a high note, with reported home sales ahead of expectations.
“We are thrilled with the positive response to North River Ranch,” said John A. Neal, President of Neal Land & Neighborhoods.
The land developer is nearing completion of phases one and two at the Brightwood and Riverfield neighborhoods at North River Ranch, in Parrish. The 2,600-acre community will offer more than 6,000 single-family homes, townhomes and apartments when completed.
Five of the six homebuilders at North River Ranch are actively selling homes and four builders, Centex, Homes by WestBay, Park Square Homes, David Weekley Homes and KB Home, have model homes open and entered into the 2021 Parade of Homes, hosted by the Manatee-Sarasota Building Industry Association.

Houston, TX (February 3, 2021): Imagination by David Weekley Homes, the division of David Weekley Homes offering high-quality homes to value-minded first-time or move-down buyers, will soon begin building in the master-planned community of Tavola. Located in New Caney, Tavola will include 24 single-family homes and is expected to open for sales in spring 2021. Buyers will be able to select from eight one- and two-story floor plans situated on 50-foot homesites, ranging in size from 1,600 to 2,800 square feet of living space. Homes will include three to five bedrooms, two to four full baths and options of a covered porch and extended owner’s retreat.

Houston-based builder David Weekley Homes and developer ECM Development plan to construct three communities and hundreds of single-family rental homes in the Dallas-Forth Worth area. ECM Development’s president calls the single-family rental market “one of the fastest-growing real estate segments.” The two companies formed a new subsidiary, ICB Construction LLC, to develop the communities, two of which will be gated. One plan, Echelon at Reverchon Bluffs, is set to open its first homes this spring. This gated community includes 82 detached homes sized between 1,574 and 2,166 square feet, along with outdoor common areas and a swimming pool.
In downtown Arlington, ECM Development is building 61 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes in a community at a public park.
Houston-based home builder David Weekley Homes has named Jess McKinney division president of its Nashville operations.
According to a release, McKinney brings more than 20 years of home building expertise to his new role. He joined David Weekley Homes in 2011, working as a sales manager and project manager in Indianapolis before being promoted to his current position.
The release does not note if McKinney replaced somebody or if the position is new to the company. Prior to joining David Weekley, McKinney worked 11 years at Carmel, Indiana-based The Estridge Companies. He holds a bachelor s degree in communications from DePauw University.
“I am very excited to grow this division and support our team as we work together to fulfill our company purpose of Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives for our team, customers and community,” McKinney said in the release. “I look forward to bringing our award-winning homes to more homebuyers in the Nashville area.”
