ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) - A man accused of kidnapping a woman led officers on a multi-county pursuit that ended with him crashing along I-85 in Rowan County, according to North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said he fired shots at officers along the way.
The pursuit started in Randolph County and ended near the Webb Road exit after the driver attempted to avoid spike strips on the interstate and veered off the highway.

SALISBURY, N.C. (WBTV) - Firefighters responded to a house fire in Salisbury Tuesday morning.
The fire broke out at a home on Foster Lane off of Morlan Park Road. Heavy smoke could be seen coming from the home in a photo tweeted by firefighters around 8:15 a.m.
Officials say the fire was in a vacant home. No injuries were reported.
The Salisbury Fire Department Loss Prevention Division is investigating.

CONCORD, N.C. (WBTV) - Deputies in Cabarrus County are asking for the public’s help locating a missing man.
Michael Davis, 43, was reported missing by his family from the area of N.C. Hwy 73 East and Irish Potato Road in Concord. Police say he “has been found before sitting on the side of the road and sitting in store parking lots.”
Due to his medical condition, officials say, he is considered endangered.

CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) - A man accused of fatally stabbing his own mother was taken into custody after an hours-long standoff with law enforcement officials at a home in Catawba County Monday morning.
The incident began around 9 a.m. at a home on 28th Street NE in Hickory. Officials say a man, identified as 29-year-old Billy Hahn Jr, was wanted in connection with the deadly stabbing of a woman that occurred on 16th Street Dr. NE, a few miles away from the 28th St. home, at around 2 a.m.
