Idaho lawmakers may not be able to lift COVID-19 restrictions. Here s why Hayat Norimine, The Idaho Statesman Feb. 7 Since Idaho s legislative session began last month, top Republican lawmakers have been focused on two goals: Remove the COVID-19 restrictions and strip the governor of some emergency powers. They introduced several bills and resolutions in a coordinated effort to accomplish those goals. One resolution declared it would put an end to the COVID-19 emergency declaration. Another claimed to preserve federal funding while doing it. Now, after Gov. Brad Little lifted many of those restrictions, they introduced a new resolution that tries to terminate the public health orders attached to the declaration.

Idaho lawmaker supportive of effort to impeach Gov Little

An eastern Idaho lawmaker says Little violated the U.S. and state constitution with his pandemic emergency orders. Author: Joey Prechtl Updated: 9:34 AM MST January 26, 2021 BOISE, Idaho An eastern Idaho lawmaker is supporting a push to remove Gov. Brad Little from office, citing issues with the governor s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rep. Chad Christensen (R-Ammon) announced via Facebook on Monday that articles of impeachment against Little have been drafted and shared his support of the efforts. The draft has not been released, but Christensen said it could be available later this week.  Christensen is not the lawmaker leading the impeachment effort but did not name who is out of fear of possible retaliation.

KTVB reached out to former Idaho Attorney General and current criminal lawyer, David Leroy, about this. He says, as you can expect, people are studying very closely the videos and the transcripts of what the president said and what he did not say.
