Palmerston North Airport s future includes work on the ground

“The board has decided we need to keep our focus on the long-term.” Both projects were seen as critical for stimulating economic growth and enhancing visitors’ first impressions of the city, Lanham said. Groundworks are under way to create a new cul-de-sac, Wairaka Place, which will open up the commercial subdivision opposite the terminal driveway near McGregor St. The first stage includes the creation of eight lots, with one of them already claimed, and another two close to agreements. The full three stages of the development would provide 22 lots of 1300 to 4000 square metres, for small to medium-sized businesses. Lanham was confident a range of businesses would snap up the opportunity to take advantage of the location and profile of properties close to the airport.
