Dozens of New Canaan Police officers, their families and town residents and officials gathered under a tent outside the department’s South Avenue headquarters Thursday to recognize those who have been promoted within NCPD and those who have gone above and beyond to earn special awards.

Police Chief Leon Krolikowski told those in attendance on a clear, comfortable evening that the ceremony is designed “to celebrate the accomplishments of many officers.”
THE former boss of Dalton s zoo returned to the site. David Rivera, formerly Gill, visited the South Lakes Safari Zoo to carry out an audit of assets . It former part of the latter stages of selling the zoo site, previously owned by Mr Rivera, to the Zoo Investment Company. The former zoo boss was assigned as an agent for the company to allow him to visit the site. He previously failed to show up as planned for a visit to the zoo. Commenting on his recent visit, the South Lakes Safari Zoo said on social media: For those who visited us today we thank you for your patience and understanding as we accompanied Mr Gill on his ‘inspection’ of the zoo, I know some of you were alarmed and I especially want to thank staff who as always displayed the utmost professionalism in what was for some a difficult day.

BUFFALO, N.Y. With Derek Chauvin s conviction, there is a renewed push to address police-community relations and make reforms nationally and here at home. We ve done nothing to change the way policing works, we have not done anything to deter the way police operate, said De Jon Hall, a community activist.
Even with Chauvin s conviction, he and many community leaders say both nationally and locally a lot more work needs to be done to address police-community relations.
