ST. PETERSBURG â Matthew Hines needs to get the coronavirus vaccine. But post-tracheotomy, the 78-year-old canât leave his home for long, because he relies on a suction machine to help him breathe.
His wife, Betty Hines, is 74 and has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She leaves the house only to go to Publix or to pick up their medicines in the pharmacy drive-thru.

Listeners, politicians, professionals and colleagues are sharing their memories of former ABC broadcaster David Evans OAM, who has died aged 78.

Also a passionate horseman, historian and community volunteer, Evans s media career spanned many decades in both radio and television.
He worked at Moree s local radio station 2VM in the early 1980s before becoming the newsreader at Prime TV Tamworth in 1984, a position he held until 1999.
Organic endive seeing strength in 2020
Supplies of California endives are slightly less than last year at this time.
“But in the environment we’re in, we have plenty,” says David Moen of California Endive Farms in Vista, California. “The foodservice segment is really struggling still though retail demand is strong and hasn’t gone down.” He adds that as the company went into the holiday season, it factored in where it thought COVID-19 would be in terms of its affect on consumers and eating. “But we also had the Thanksgiving time period. We took a bit of risk to have some product on hand, though it’s not as much as last year,” he says.
