Students over the moon at exclusive Anzac Day march invite

Premium Content Subscriber only Mackay North State High School has the only school band outside of Brisbane to receive an invite to march at this year’s state Anzac Day parade. Performing Arts faculty head Kathy George said the students were “over the moon” to get an invite for the 27th year in a row, particularly considering the number of bands were halved this year because of COVID-19. “Over 90 of the 130 members of the marching band will travel to Brisbane to prepare for their appearance – a very important part of the school’s extension program for (its) many gifted and talented instrumental students,” Mrs George said.

The roundtable, “Election 2020: An Immediate History,” will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19. Moderated by Dr. Jess Porter, chair of the UA Little Rock Department of History, the event will feature history professors Drs. David Baylis, John Kirk, Brian Mitchell, and Jim Ross.
