As Chris Paul Nears His First NBA Title – After 16 Years and Five Pro Franchises – He Still Remembers His First Team

Chris Paul played two seasons of varsity basketball at West Forsyth High School in Clemmons, N.C., two seasons in the ACC at Wake Forest, and is now a 16th-year professional, with his fifth franchise, within reach of his first NBA championship.
His “first team,” though, was the North Carolina Tar Heels.
“Since I was a little kid, (UNC) was the only team I wanted to play for,” Paul said. “All the way into my junior year of high school, when I took a recruiting visit to Chapel Hill, that was still where I wanted to go.”

On Sunday, May 30, 2021, Patricia Pat Louise Schiber joined the love of her life, James Schiber, in heaven. After more than 30 years apart they are now reunited.
They were married on November 8, 1957 and together they raised four boys and welcomed 12 grand children and four great-grandchildren.
Pat was born on February 15, 1936 and lived her whole life in Hartford while spending a great deal of time visiting family in Calhoun County. She is the fourth child of Carl Otto and Margaret Schlieper, whom proceed her in death. She also now joins her brother Edward Jerome “EJ” Schlieper, and sisters Valera Whyte and Betty Montgomery at the family table in heaven.
As always, I’d like to start with a bit of background. What music path got you to where you are today and what artists influenced and inspired you?
Afton Wolfe: Like many I knew, I grew up singing in church, and it’s the earliest memory I have – singing a duet with my Mom in a Christmas musical at
State Boulevard Baptist Church in Meridian,
Mississippi. My folks were both musical (met in the marching band), and it was always around me, even more so than I appreciated at the time. I’ve always loved singing, and I started writing poetry or journaling or just releasing the valve on the verbal tank in my mind when I was really young as well. Then I put those together. From there, I became enamored with songs and therefore songwriters. In Meridian, where I went to grade school, we took regular field trips to the

Due to current covid 19 restrictions a private Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 15th, at 12 noon at The Church of St.Laurence O Toole, Levitstown followed by burial at St. Mullins Cemetery.
