5 Read / Add Comments A 23-year-old woman trying to capture a moment in Hoboken got one she ll never forget, thanks to half-a-dozen police officers who dove into the Hudson River to rescue her. The Berkley Heights woman  was trying to get a better view of New York City while out with her friends and brother near Pier 13, when she climbed a railing and fell over around 3:30 a.m., Feb. 6, Hoboken police said. Because of the snow on the ground, she did not see the gaps between the pier and the dock, authorities said. That particular area of the pier was closed off to the public.

18-year-old threatened to kill victim after armed robbery: police Updated Jan 10, 2021; HOBOKEN An 18-year-old stole over $600 in cash and $200 worth of merchandise on sale and threatened to kill a man if he did anything about it, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Angel Sanabria Jr., of Hoboken, has been charged with robbery, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, terroristic threats, criminal mischief and theft. Around 12:25 a.m. Saturday, Sgt. David DiMartino and Officer Joshua Campoverde responded to 6th and Washington streets on the report of an armed robbery. The officers were given a description of the suspect and were told he brandished a black handgun during the crime, threatening “to kill” the victim. Afterwards, the suspect fled south on Washington Street with the valuables, Suarez said.

Police: 18-year-old Hoboken man arrested for robbing business with paintball gun By John Heinis/Hudson County View Angel Sanabria, Jr., 18, of Hoboken was charged with robbery, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, terroristic threats, criminal mischief, and theft, according to Police Det. Sgt. Jonathan Mecka. At approximately 12:25 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of 6th and Washington Streets on the report of an armed robbery. While in route, officers were provided a description of the actor who brandished a black handgun during the crime then fled south on Washington Street. When Officer Joshua Campoverde arrived, he took note of the proceeds taken which were valued at over $800. The proceeds included over $600 in cash and other merchandise for sale.
