Cuomo flush with campaign cash despite scandals Denis Slattery
ALBANY Sexual harassment allegations, an impeachment inquiry and other scandals haven’t deterred donors from funneling cash into Gov. Cuomo’s campaign coffers.
Cuomo, eyeing a run for a fourth term next year despite his troubles, raised roughly $2.5 million in contributions over the past six months, his campaign announced Thursday.
The embattled Democrat now has about $18.5 million in his war chest. Cuomo’s campaign reported spending $881,258.30 in the first half of 2021 and claims 84% of all donations came in amounts of $250 or less.
A detailed Board of Elections filing breaking down individual donors and how campaign funds have been spent was not available as of Thursday evening.
