Cuomo flush with campaign cash despite scandals

ALBANY — Sexual harassment allegations, an impeachment inquiry and other scandals haven’t deterred donors from funneling cash into Gov. Cuomo’s campaign coffers.
Cuomo, eyeing a run for a fourth term next year despite his troubles, raised roughly $2.5 million in contributions over the past six months, his campaign announced Thursday.
The embattled Democrat now has about $18.5 million in his war chest. Cuomo’s campaign reported spending $881,258.30 in the first half of 2021 and claims 84% of all donations came in amounts of $250 or less.
A detailed Board of Elections filing breaking down individual donors and how campaign funds have been spent was not available as of Thursday evening.
