Laredo Border Patrol agent accused of pulling out handgun at coffee shop in Hidalgo County

A Border Patrol agent assigned to the Laredo Sector was arrested last week in Edinburg, Texas for allegedly pulling out a handgun at a coffee shop several times, possessing Xanax and driving while intoxicated.
According to an affidavit obtained by the McAllen Monitor, Edinburg Police were dispatched to a coffee shop around 8 a.m. Tuesday in response to man in his car allegedly displaying a gun.
Police interviewed David Saldivar, 42, who admitted to taking Xanax and gave consent for them to search his bag, per the affidavit. An officer discovered a 9 millimeter handgun in the bag and a bottle of Farmapram.
