Regulatory sandbox would make Tennessee competitive for business

Ron Shultis is the director of policy at Beacon Impact, the advocacy partner of the Beacon Center of Tennessee. Have you ever watched how kids play and been amazed? They are full of imagination and creativity. They make up games, rules, stories and even whole worlds on the fly. Take, for example, a kid playing in a sandbox. They build castles, use figurines and even bury friends and family. Imagination and creativity make kids question the world around them, try new things and dream big.  Sadly, as we grow older, reality can beat these youthful qualities out of us. For many of us, that could mean accepting the status quo, shelving a dream of inventing a product, or never starting that business idea you’ve always thought would be successful.
