Manchester United’s owners should ask for Sir Alex Ferguson’s advice as they prepare to replace Ed Woodward, according to one EFL club chief.
United have a big decision to make as they look to find the successor to their outgoing executive vice-chairman. Woodward had earlier signalled his intention to leave, but
Woodward will subsequently step down at the end of 2021, leaving a post to fill in the club’s hierarchy.
The former accountant has played a key role at the Red Devils, taking over from David Gill in 2012.

Halley Rise, the mixed-use development currently taking shape next to the impending Reston Town Center Metro station, could become even larger in scope.
As first reported by the Washington Business Journal, the real estate developer Akridge has submitted plans to Fairfax County that would introduce an additional 480 residential units and 9,250 square feet of ground-floor retail space to the 36-acre complex.
Located along Reston Parkway, the new development would join 1,500 residential units, 1.5 million square feet of office space, and 250,000 square feet of retail planned for Halley Rise by Brookfield Properties, which has been managing the $1.4 billion project.

Ethics drive new rules for council
NEW rules will be written for Mornington Peninsula Shire Council to self-regulate against corruption among councillors and officers and ensure that the “highest standards” are followed when contractors are hired, and goods and services bought.
In the first of two moves adopted by councillors last week, a “lobbying policy” will be drawn up to guide councillors and officers and “maintain transparency and accountability” when decisions are made.
The second move was to ensure that contractors and consultants meet “the highest standards of social, ethical and sustainable business practices”.
Changes to the existing procurement policy must also place “greater weight” on dealing with small to medium sized businesses based on the peninsula.
