Last year, Kentucky State Policeâs Trooper Island was held virtually because of COVID-19, but for the summer of 2021, troopers are looking forward to getting back on Dale Hollow Lake. Trooper Daniel Priddy said Trooper Island is all about being able to interact with the children, especially in the afternoons playing baseball, basketball, swimming, kayaking and canoeing. He said it’s as impactful for them as much as it is for the kids. Trooper Priddy says the only way theyâre able to pay for it is through fundraising. All 16 Posts throughout Kentucky have a week that they bring kids to the island. Usually, about 500 total kids are able to participate. You do have to fill out an application to be able to attend Trooper Island. Applications can be found at most schools or online.

Dale Hollow Damsite Corps Pass Pass
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Dale Hollow Lake charges a day use fee at selected recreation areas: Pleasant Grove Day Use, Lillydale Day Use, and Obey River Day Use. In lieu of the daily vehicle fee, a Corps of Engineers Annual Day Use pass can be purchased. The Corps Annual Pass is honored at all similar day use facilities nationwide at any Corps lake charging a day use fee. It is recommended to phone your selected area before departure to determine fees and passes.
Dale Hollow Dam Campground is one authorized location on Dale Hollow Lake to issue online purchases of the Corps Annual Day Use Activity Pass. Dale Hollow Dam Campground is located approximately 3 miles north of Celina, Tennessee off TN Hwy 53.
