Henderson County News: Green Meadows sweep results in 18 trafficking arrests

  Law officers from seven agencies joined drug task force members in the sweep of Operation WaveRider, which began after numerous complaints of drug trafficking and numerous overdose cases in Hendersonville and Henderson County. Detectives identified Kendall Angram as the supply source for various controlled substances associated with the overdoses and were able to identify numerous individuals associated with Angram’s drug trafficking organization. As a result of the search warrants executed late last week, detectives located and seized quantities of cocaine, heroin/fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, MDMA/Ecstasy. FSI Sues DOL Over Independent Contractor Rule Withdrawal The group is joining other plaintiffs in a suit filed in a Texas federal court, with CEO and President Dale Brown claiming the DOL s decision was hasty and arbitrary and would be detrimental to independent financial advisors. The Financial Services Institute, a brokerage industry advocacy group, has joined a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Labor, claiming the DOL’s recent withdrawal of its independent contractor rule violated federal law. FSI CEO and President Dale Brown called the move “hasty and arbitrary.” FSI, which advocates and lobbies for independent broker/dealers, joined the suit in federal court in the Eastern District of Texas; the other plaintiffs include the Associated Builders and Contractors, the Associated Builders and Contractors of Southeast Texas and the Coalition for Workforce Innovation.
