A WATERFORD security expert says the cyber attack on the HSE is a warning to all businesses to ensure their IT systems are properly secure.
John Gleeson, Director of Waterford-based ‘Radius Technologies’, says their own phones have been “hopping” since news emerged of the ransomware attack last week, shutting down HSE systems countrywide.
“It is so important for companies to ensure they have robust systems in place,” John Gleeson told Deise Today.
“Carry out cyber reviews on systems and most important is disaster recovery. Have a plan in place and tested and make sure your IT sytems are locked down, patched and managed securely,” he said, also suggesting business should look at getting their companies cyber certified.
