New Indiana assistant coach Yasir Rosemond will be paid $300,000 per year according to a memorandum of understanding provided to the Daily Hoosier by the Indiana athletic department. It is a two-year deal, but the contract extends automatically every year on June 30, starting June 30, 2022 unless Rosemond is given notice of non-renewal.
Rosemond will also be given $20,000 for moving expenses and allowed to purchase $2,000 annually in adidas gear. He is also provided a courtesy car and university benefits.
He will receive a bonus equal to one-month salary if the Hoosiers reach the NCAA Tournament. He gets another one-month salary bonus if they reach the Sweet 16, another if they reach the Final Four, and another if they win the NCAA Tournament.

Dane Fife showed up for his first Zoom press conference as an Indiana assistant coach armed with jokes and wisecracks, self-deprecating and otherwise.
The former Indiana guard and 10-year assistant coach at Michigan State under Tom Izzo had crossed paths with enough of the media members on the call over the years to be able to deliver some playful cracks, and he did, calling out one beat reporter for the sunburn he’d developed on vacation in Florida and another for the hair spiking out above his visor, asking if it was real hair. A third, who is bald, joked that his hair was obviously real, and Fife suggested that Indiana needed better high-definition on its Zoom calls because he couldn’t tell how long it had been since the reporter shaved what little hair he had.

New Indiana head coach Mike Woodson had three countable coaching positions to fill on his staff following his hiring on March 28.
Two and a half weeks into his tenure, all three spots have been addressed.
Kenya Hunter, a holdover from former coach Archie Miller’s staff, was first. Dane Fife, a former Hoosier guard and longtime Michigan State assistant, was second. And now, Woodson is turning to former Alabama assistant Yasir Rosemond for the third job.
Indiana made Rosemond’s hiring official on Wednesday, bringing Woodson’s bench staff whole. The 43-year-old Rosemond, who has not coached in college since 2019 when the Crimson Tide fired former head coach Avery Johnson, has also had stints at Georgia (2014-17), Samford (2012-14), Seattle (2010-11), Oregon (2006-2010) and Redlands Community College (2005-06).

Dane Fife leaned back in his chair, crossed his arms and kicked out his legs, signaling his frustration with the events unfolding in front of him. It was late in Indiana’s 63-62 win over Michigan State on March 2, 2019, the Hoosiers’ second signature win over the Spartans that season, and Fife was seated in the middle of the visitor’s bench at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. As the final seconds died off the clock, Michigan State point guard Cassius Winston dribbled down the wing only a few feet from Fife as he looked for an opening to drive around his Indiana counterpart, Rob Phinisee.
