TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - A Lee County man is accused of assaulting his girlfriend.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, an off-duty police officer discovered a woman walking along Highway 370 east of Baldwyn. This happened on Friday, May 21.
The woman claimed her boyfriend, 38-year-old Daniel Mayo, assaulted her.
She received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries at the hospital in Tupelo.
The investigation led to Mayo’s arrest. Investigators charged him with aggravated domestic violence.
