Digital printing - Transforms designing with wool

Less water Digital fabric printing involves using inkjet technology to apply colour dyes simultaneously to a specially prepared fabric surface. In contrast to traditional print methods, digital printing is quick and personalised. The technique allows for printing on smaller lengths of fabric, lessening demand for water, chemicals and textile waste. Designers are increasingly taking up the technology. For instance, the winner of the Karl Lagerfeld Award for Innovation at last year’s 2020 International Woolmark Prize, BODE from the USA, used digital printing in her winning designs – see image. BODE utilised the support of pioneering digital printing company Think Positive which is a trade partner of the International Woolmark Prize.

This may be from droughts in Niger to severe floods in Yorkshire. But you can help support those most at-risk, with the virtual sponsored ‘Ride For Tomorrow 2021’ challenge. The aim is for cyclists to ride 410km during the month of April and raise £150 or more for the British Red Cross.

Darwin woman whose dachshund was mauled to death by hunting dogs shares horrific photos

A devastated mother whose pet dog was mauled to death by three savage hunting dogs has shared graphic photos of the horrific attack. The pig-hunting dogs set upon Yvette Goldberg s beloved dachshund Pancake in the driveway of her Howard Springs home near Darwin on February 17 after escaping from their owner s rural property. Ms Goldberg tried desperately to cling onto Pancake but the much larger dogs dragged her for seven metres through the gravel before she eventually let him go. The grieving dog owner has since campaigned for authorities in the Northern Territory to create Pancake s Law by making wide-sweeping changes to the state s dog-hunting legislation.
