In San Antonio, a line for propane only gets shorter when people give up on waiting.

Joseph Ray was the first to arrive at the Hydrogas Propane station at 6 a.m. Thursday to fill his tanks. He needed the propane the night before for heat and cooking, but the line of cars waiting to enter the gates of the depot was a half-mile long, and Hydrogas was closing.
Mr. Ray, 54, lives with his wife in a travel trailer on the far edge of San Antonio, where their power came back on Wednesday, after five days of a blackout.
