Have you ever seen a house cut in half? Austin Johnson, the Michelin-starred chef behind One White Street in Tribeca, might be the closest thing New York has to an expert on houses cut in half. In fact, hanging in the first floor dining room of the soon-to-open restaurant, there’s a photograph of one, a 1973 work by Gordon Matta-Clark, in which the late artist vertically bisected a two-story New Jersey home using nothing more than a handheld chainsaw. The incisions, which reportedly took more than three months, left the house standing.
The photograph is technically a negative of the original work, but it’s a testament to what it takes it to deconstruct a building from the inside out. Johnson would know. CLERMONT Authorities have identified the remains of a dead woman found in a remote area last week as Veronica Sacco, 29, who had been reported missing from Orange County on April 12.
Surveyors discovered the woman’s body last Monday in the area of Five Mile Road and Schofield Road south of Clermont near the Orange County line.
The body was in a state of advanced decomposition, so dental records were needed to positively identify her. It was impossible to say at that time if there were any signs of trauma. The Medical Examiner’s Office in Leesburg performed an autopsy.
Detectives declined to release any other information at that time.
Updated: 11:58 AM EDT May 3, 2021 Officials have identified a body found by surveyors in Clermont at the end of April.Deputies say 29-year-old Veronica Sacco was found in the area of Five Mile Road and Schofield Road near the Orange County line.There had been a missing person s report for Sacco out of Orange County. The report said Sacco was last seen in the area of West Oak Ridge Road at the South Ridge Apartments in Orlando. Lake County deputies have not said how Sacco died.
